Frequently Asked Questions
How is payout calculated?
Payout is based on the distance of the route the driver has acknowledged, as well as the time between the start an the end destination. Drivers will receive their payment weekly on Tuesday (Wednesday if monday or tuesday is a holiday), and the accounting team will send the weekly report of all the routes the drivers have completed for that week and the payout for each route. The accounting team will reach out to drivers for their information after they have completed the first week of routes. Drivers' earnings statement can also be seen on their dashboard in the goEzz driver web/mobile app.
How do I get paid if a ride is cancelled?
If a ride is cancelled more than 12 hours in advance of the pick-up time, the ride is removed for the route, and the route is recalculated with updated payout, and the driver will need to reacknowledge the route. If the ride is cancelled between 12 to 2 hours before the pickup time, a fixed cancellation fee is added to the payout and the ride is removed from the route, with the driver needing to reacknowledge the route. If the ride is cancelled with 2 to 0 hours of the pickup time, the ride is removed from the route, but the route payout stays to the previously acknowledged payout.
How do routes get published to drivers?
Routes are published to drivers based on the radius of their location, especially their distance from the starting and ending location, and the driver’s familiarity with a route. Everyday, the routes are published to the driver’s dashboard, where they have the option to accept or reject the routes. The driver will receive a text message when a route is published on their dashboard. We encourage drivers to accept or decline the route within 30 minutes before it becomes available to other drivers.
When can we expect routes to be published?
We publish routes everday, sometimes a week in advance, a few days in advance, and up to a day in advance.
What should I do if a child’s parent has not put any notes for pickup/dropoff?
The driver should call goEzz so that they can clarify with the parents of the child. Especially for children younger than 12 years old, they should not be left alone. This should not be a typical case as we require parents to put specific instructions in the pickup/dropoff notes. Even if the route is a frequent one for the child, the child might not always have up-to-date information, so always make sure to ask goEzz first.
What should I do if a drop off a child at their destination and they cannot go to their location?
Some examples include: their home being locked and a parent isn’t there, or school/activity providers being locked.
The driver should contact goEzz immediately. If there are other children that the driver needs to pick up and drop off in the published route, then they should complete that first, and then come back to the location where the first child could not be dropped off. The parents may have an alternate location, so goEzz will let the driver know where the driver can drop off the child. The driver's route payout will be adjusted for the extra time and distance spent to drop off the child to an alternate location.
What should I do if I cannot make it to my acknowledged route?
We discourage drivers from last minute no-shows, but if there is an emergency, then the driver should call, text, or email goEzz. We will immediately look for another driver to do the route, or coordinate with parents to get their child picked up.
Do I need to accept routes that are published to me the day of?
Sometimes there are routes that are published last minute to drivers' dashboard, and drivers are free to accept or reject the route.
How often do I need to renew trainings, permits, and the car inspection required to be a driver?
Drivers need to complete these once a year. For things like driver’s license and vehicle insurance expiration, that is the drivers' responsibility to make sure they are up to date.
